On this week’s show we are pleased to feature Achieve Beyond, Pediatric Therapy and Autism Services and their Director of Behavioral Services, Kristin Harris.

Achieve Beyond was founded in 1995 to meet the needs of developmentally delayed and disabled children and their families, particularly children with bilingual needs. Achieve Beyond had a modest beginning in a small office in Long Island. Two years later, the company expanded its presence to the five boroughs of New York City. The present staff now occupies a state of the art facility in Forest Hills, Queens, along with offices in Long Island, Westchester County, Virginia, California and Texas.

Kristin Harris M.S. Ed., BCBA has been working in the field of special education for eight years. She obtained her BS in Speech & Language Disabilities at SUNY Cortland and received her MS from LIU where she studied Teaching Students with Disabilities and earned her advanced certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Kristin has extensive experience with discrete trial instruction and developing programming to foster independence in the children she serves. She is especially interested in social skills curricula that facilitate community integration.

Their Autism Services are based upon Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a scientific, problem-solving approach designed to produce socially-significant outcomes. In other words, Behavior Analysts aim to improve quality of life for individuals, families, and communities using the science of behavior change. Over 60 years of research supports its effectiveness in meeting the complex needs of this population. Their other services include, speech, occupational and physical therapy and special education.

Achieve Beyond believes that early intervention services make a difference and they provide pediatric therapy services to children and students ages 0-21, aiding each child to reach their full potential through education, therapy, and family support services in over 30 different languages.  Achieve Beyond USA offers initial screenings, parent or school consultations as well as comprehensive evaluations.
