Speech-Language therapy services evaluate patients with language and speech impairments or disorders and conducts remedial programs designed to restore or improve their communication efficacy. Speech pathologists (SLPs) assess and treat people with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. A speech disorder commonly refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder references a difficulty in understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas. These services could be needed if a person is suffering from cases such as stuttering, hearing impairments, weak oral muscles, autism and various swallowing disorders to name a few.
Achieve Beyond specializes in pediatric speech language therapy services that assist in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of physical and/or cognitive difficulties relating to verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as feeding and swallowing difficulties, stuttering and voice disorders. Our licensed SLP therapists develop an individualized service plan tailored to each child’s needs. Achieve Beyond SLPs work with children on how to make sounds, correct produce of sounds and syllables, improve the tone or quality of their voices, or increase their oral language skills to communicate more effectively. They also work on coordinating and conditioning muscles used in swallowing and eating to prevent choking or inhaling food or liquid.
