When I started, I knew Achieve Beyond would be the place to upstart my career. Little did I know where I would end up a couple years later. I began as a behavior technician and had a wonderful training that really made me feel enamored with the science of applied behavior analysis! I began working with kiddos on my case load, building rapport with caregivers, supervisors and all who were involved. I looked closely how I felt about becoming a BCBA instead of other avenues. I really dove in!
Here I decided not only what master’s program to get into but also what my career was going to involve into. When going through this process, my supervisors (BCBAs) showed me what was possible and how rewarding the field truly was. I decided to go for it! I received my RBT certification with the help from Maritza! She has been such a big support with my professional growth. As I entered graduate school, she provided the best experience I could ask for as a supervisee. When I graduated I felt the love from everyone from practitioners to administration. I even felt more support when I began preparing for the BCBA exam. From mock exams and words of wisdom I could not ask for a more supportive team. With the help from Achieve Beyond I was able to manage school and my caseload. I was able to gain fieldwork experience and leadership skills. From the trainings, roundtables, social skills groups and opportunities to talk to speakers such as Dr. Hanley I have been so excited to keep learning! I am so grateful for all the resources and opportunities Achieve Beyond has brought into my life. I really cannot imagine jumpstarting my career anywhere else.
