Achieve Beyond is a national Pediatric Therapy and Autism Services agency. With offices in New York (Metro area/Long Island, Hudson Valley & Albany), New Jersey, Virginia/DC area, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, and California (greater Los Angeles & Orange County, San Francisco and San Diego). Achieve Beyond provides quality evaluation and therapy services such as special education, autism services, speech, physical, and occupational therapies to children birth through twenty-one years of age via telehealth, in clinic and in homes and the community.

The Staff Accountant ll is responsible for the preparation of P&L reports on a monthly basis as well ongoing analysis of direct/indirect expenses to ensure compliance to NYS regulations and GAAP. The Staff Accountant ll will work closely with the Accounting Manager, and Senior Accountant to provide analytical support to all programs of Achieve Beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily and Weekly Functions:
    • Keep track of the daily bank balances for all companies and send out daily cash reports
    • Work with payroll to approve AGH payments
    • Prepare bi-weekly cash analysis to send to upper management
    • Review and post AP invoices prepared by the Junior Accountant
    • Reconcile 5 different bank accounts weekly
  • Monthly Functions
    • Review and post all revenue entries for affiliates
    • Work with billing departments to reconcile revenue and identify and fix variances
    • Finish bank reconciliations for 5 companies
    • Prepare and analyze monthly collection rates and update and propose new rates quarterly if necessary
    • Prepare assigned monthly balance sheet schedules and propose adjusting entries if necessary
    • Record unbilled revenue
    • Update trends in revenue, cash collection and hours and prepare graphs to shows trends
    • Work with AR manager to prepare expected rates for insurance billing
    • Prepare, review and analyze P&L reports for upper management on a monthly basis
    • identifies trends or problem areas and formulate strategic solutions to bring to management on the financial dashboards.
    • Schedule and conduct monthly financial reviews for all programs
    • Send salaried provider margins to upper management
    • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Other Tasks:
    • Assist in preparation of budgets for all programs by working closely with program directors to project revenues and expenses
      for the next fiscal year and ensuring the split of direct/indirect is in line with the regulations
    • Work with Senior and Accounting Manager on audit related tasks
    • Prepare ad hoc reporting/analysis as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in Accounting related field
  • Strong analytical skills and strong communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must have strong knowledge of Excel and be able to use advanced formulas
  • Preferred:
    • Three years of accounting experience in a healthcare setting
    • Sage 300 Experience preferred but not required
  • Exempt position may require some weekend work hours and overtime hours during the workweek.
