Job Summary:

The Special Education Early Intervention Evaluations Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of evaluations meet the standards and timelines of the Early Intervention Program.  Additionally, the Special Education Evaluations Manager will effectively grow the program, manage internal staff, and ensure that policies and procedures are being followed at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review 100% of early intervention evaluations and summaries to ensure they meet consistent standards.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of evaluations and summaries: monitor performance according to agreed standards and goals and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
  • Recommend changes, prepare plans and implement projects ensuring timeliness and effective completion of evaluations.
  • Complete 5 evaluations per week
  • Prepare and analyze departmental reports; determine recurring problems and recommend changes in procedures, standards and policies for quality improvement and problem resolution.
  • Conduct clinical training for evaluators and/or staff monthly or when necessary.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the ei evaluation staff, recommending measures to improve performance and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure departmental monthly goals are met while maintaining 100% compliance.
  • Implement necessary Corrective Action Plans.
  • Address clinical questions from evaluators and/or staff.
  • Integrate the company’s goals, initiatives, and relevant strategic plan objectives in all aspects of position responsibilities.
  • Ensure internal processes are within or exceed New York State regulatory requirements. 
  • Keep up to date on all NYS Regulations: attend outside workshops and trainings for information regarding new policies and procedures as well as best practice; update evaluators and staff; hold training on new information as required.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Special Education
  • Must be a NYS certified Special Education Teacher:  Initial or Professional Students with Disabilities Birth – 2 OR Permanent Special Education. 
  • Experience in management/supervisory position in a health or education field preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Early Intervention Program a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Superior organizational and long-range planning skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent computer skills. Prior experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in a second language a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the workday working on a computer/electronic device.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm Must be willing to work overtime as needed. Please note this is not a remote position.
