Job Summary:

The NYC EI Billing Clerk will gather and record all the transactions of services provision. The Billing Coordinator will help identify billing issues by ensuring accurate session record keeping based on County/State regulations.

The NYC EI Billing Clerk should be detailed oriented and able to meet given deadlines. This person will be responsible for verifying and posting claims into the database as well as completing electronic filing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processing session notes while reviewing data to ensure accuracy
  • Review Providers Invoices for the payment
  • Researching and resolving issues with cases
  • Contact with other departments and providers
  • Assist during department audit and special projects as needed
  • Follow up with providers for corrections
  • Organize and maintain session notes in electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications and Other Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Strong data entry skills and computer skills, including excel, word processing and e-mail at a highly proficient level.
  • Other SkillsAttention to detail and a high level of accuracy is required
  • Experience2 years of related billing or data entry experience preferred but not required
  • EducationBachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the work day working on a computer/electronic device
  • Occasionally moving and/or lifting objects at work weighing up to 20 pounds such as files or copy paper.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Hourly Rate: $20
Hours: Monday-Friday-Friday: 9:00 am-5:30 pm.
Note that this role is in office daily – it is not a remote position.
