What is the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)? An overview

This workshop introduces the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) as a play-based, relationship-driven approach that supports learning for very young autistic learners through joyful interaction and everyday routines. We’ll break down the core elements—developmental sequencing, naturalistic teaching, and shared engagement—and translate them into practical strategies EI providers can use immediately. Participants will leave with simple, family-friendly tools for embedding learning opportunities into daily life while strengthening connection, communication, and confidence for both the baby and their caregivers.
