Satisfactory Completion: Participants must actively participate in all course activities and complete a culminating assessment aligned with the course learning outcomes. A minimum score of 80% or higher is required on the final assessment to demonstrate satisfactory comprehension of course content. In addition, participants must submit a completed course evaluation form. All requirements must be met in order to receive ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
This workshop explores the developmental progression from prelinguistic communication skills to higher-level expressive language and narrative development in young children. Participants will examine how joint attention, symbolic play, imitation, and social reciprocity contribute to later language and literacy outcomes while identifying intervention strategies that support developmental scaffolding across domains.
