Job Summary:

The Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager oversees the billing function of our NYS Preschool and School Age programs to ensure services delivered by providers are billed accurately and on time. The Billing/Accounts Receivable Manager provides work direction and reviews for billing clerks and will also oversee the processing of billing consistent with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises, hires and trains billing staff; assigns work, develops work schedules, and instructs in proper billing procedures; assists with development and revision of departmental billing processes/procedures; monitors staff performance and provides feedback; ensures staff is obtaining adequate billing information
  • Prepares reports and maintains records
  • Monitors billing procedures and documentation; conducts periodic audits
  • Communicates directly with all key departments to resolve issues related to Billing
  • Sends appropriate reports to Finance and Upper Management
  • Monitors the A/R of the Preschool and School Age programs
  • Ensures the billing department meets the revenue goals for budget purposes.

Qualifications and other requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Proven experience as a billing manager or similar role in the health care industry
  • Solid knowledge of billing procedures and regulations
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information
  • Impeccable analytical skills
  • Experience with NY State Preschool and/or Early Intervention programs a plus
  • Ability to present, communicate initiatives, results and analyses to management
Physical Requirements of the Role:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the workday working on a computer/electronic device
  • Occasionally moving and/or lifting objects at work weighing up to 20 pounds such as files or copy paper
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Salary: $66,300-$70,000
Hours: Monday-Friday-Friday: 9:00 am-5:30 pm. Note that this role is in office daily – it is not a remote position.
