Achieve Beyond is a national Pediatric Therapy and Autism Services agency. With offices in New York (Metro area/Long Island, Hudson Valley & Albany), New Jersey, Virginia/DC area, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, and California (greater Los Angeles & Orange County, the greater San Francisco area, and San Diego) Achieve Beyond provides quality evaluation and therapy services such as special education, autism services, speech, physical, and occupational therapies to children birth through twenty-one years of age via telehealth, in clinic and in homes and the community.

We are looking for a dynamic, professional, and hardworking IEP Meeting Specialist to join our growing team. The IEP Meeting Specialist works closely with members of the Board of Education and the CPSE Evaluations Department to ensure all IEP Meetings are scheduled within a timely manner and that an agency representative is in attendance for every scheduled IEP meeting. The IEP Meeting Specialist is responsible for the life cycle of the IEP Meeting Process internally/externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow Achieve Beyond’s and NYSED’s policies and procedures regarding CPSE evaluations, IEP meetings, and professional conduct
  • Contact with families prior to IEP meetings is required to ensure the families received the evaluation results and understand the results in order to have realistic expectations of IEP meeting outcomes
  • Responsible for answering questions of families and/or Service Coordinators prior to IEP meetings
  • Maintains proper documentation regarding pre and post IEP outcomes
  • Scheduling of IEP meetings with DAs at the District’s discretion
  • Maintains/furthers positive relationships with DAs and parents/referral sources on a continuous basis
  • Communicates with CPSE department staff regarding items mentioned in IEP meetings and/or with families/referral sources regarding quality of reports, summaries, and any other additional feedback provided
  • Follows up and obtains outstanding STAC 5s or IEP documentation from the district
  • If there is a low volume of meetings for a week, CPSE Evaluation Specialist may be asked to conduct educational evaluations, clinical observations or screenings or assist members of the Evaluations department
  • Perform special projects, as assigned
  • Coverage for Evaluations Manager as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed as a NYS LMSW OR have NYS Provisional or Permanent School Psychology certification OR have NYS Students with Disabilities Birth-2 Initial or Professional certification OR Permanent Special Education certificate OR Permanent TSHH certificate OR TSLD Initial or Professional certification
  • Must be willing and able to travel among the NYC boroughs for meetings daily/as needed (this is not a remote position)
  • Previous exposure to EI and CPSE programs/IFSP and IEP meetings a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows XP, Excel, Office Suite and Outlook
  • Strong typing skills and familiarity with/ability to quickly learn databases
  • Solid interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required – must possess the ability to interact with a broad spectrum of people
  • Must be organized, motivated, and willing to work as part of a team and independently
  • Responsible for having remote access to CPSE department programs at all times while in the field

*Please note that this role is not a remote position. Stationed out of the Forest Hills office with travel to other boroughs based on meeting schedule.

*Hours Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm and OT as needed.
