Achieve Beyond is a national Pediatric Therapy and Autism Services agency. With offices in New York (Metro area/Long Island, Hudson Valley & Albany), New Jersey, Virginia/DC area, Connecticut, Maryland, Southern Florida, Delaware, and California (greater Los Angeles area, the greater San Francisco area, San Diego, and Orange County). Achieve Beyond provides quality evaluation and therapy services such as special education, autism services, speech, physical, and occupational therapies to children birth through twenty-one years of age. We are currently looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist II to join our growing team.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist II is responsible for collection of all insurance and private pay payments from start of service to discharge/termination.

  • Medical Billing Claims Follow Up
    • Follow up on open claims 60 days or greater
    • Follow up on claims processed incorrectly due to patient responsibility
    • Interpreting/Posting EOBs
    • Denial management
    • Appeals
    • Write offs
    • Patient billing inquires and collections
  • Assist Accounts Receivable Specialists on medical billing claims follow up
  • Filing out insurance correspondence forms
  • Creating spreadsheets for insurance
  • Prepare coversheets/letters
  • Reprinting claims if necessary
  • Gather proof of timely filing and medical records
  • Clearinghouse rebilling
  • Cross train to assist with the Billing and Accounts Receivable Department
  • Other duties as assigned by manager


  • One to three years of experience working in health care billing
  • Knowledge of Insurance rules, regulations and compliance guidelines
  • Ability to interpret CPT/HCPC/ICD-10 books
  • Medical Instance Experience Requires
  • Experience handling a heavy claim volume
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and respond quickly to concerns
  • Quick learner
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to work overtime when needed
