Achieve Beyond is a national Pediatric Therapy and Autism Services agency. With offices in New York (Metro area/Long Island, Hudson Valley & Albany), New Jersey, Virginia/DC area, Connecticut, Maryland, Southern Florida, Delaware, and California (greater Los Angeles & Orange County, San Francisco and San Diego). Achieve Beyond provides quality evaluation and therapy services such as special education, autism services, speech, physical, and occupational therapies to children birth through twenty-one years of age via telehealth, in clinic and in homes and the community.

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for assisting in overseeing the department and providing administrative support in order to ensure accurate adjudication of services for payment. This person should work towards identifying, and resolving all claiming issues that arise in order to receive reimbursement of services rendered by Achieve Beyond in the New York State Early Intervention (EI), Pre-school (CPSE) and School Aged (CSE) programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of billing policies, procedures and regulations of the NYS EI, CPSE and CSE programs
  • Acting as liaison between Achieve Beyond and Insurance companies, Medicaid, State Fiscal Agent and County/ District representative when reporting issues that may hinder payment.
  • Working closely with other internal departments to identify trends and ensure appropriate resolutions are executed
  • Review insurance subrogation letters and send it to appropriate department for further action
  • Working closely with the Accounting Department to reconsolidate payment discrepancies between bank and database
  • Identify billing issues and resolve denials that may hinder payment
  • Analyze and follow up with respective payer for unpaid claims over 90 days
  • Review and issue insurance refunds due to overpayment or HRA/HSA payments
  • Provide trainings for new and ongoing staff members within and outside of the department
  • Assist with development and revision of AR processes and procedures
  • Provide coverage for department staff when necessary
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports to upper management
  • Provide support for special projects and audits as needed
  • Other administrative responsibilities such as but not limited to responding to phone calls and emails.


Requirements:

  • General Billing and/or Accounting knowledge.
  • Background in working with Microsoft Excel and formulas.
  • Knowledge of insurance claiming and able to understand insurance explanation of benefits.
  • Understanding of CPT, ICD Coding, and medical terminology.
  • At least 1 year of related Accounts Receivable or Medical Billing experience
  • Knowledge in C.L.A.I.M.S. and NYS EI/CPSE/CSE policies preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong data entry and computer skills.
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Other Skills:
    • General Math Skills.
    • Extreme attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Able to analyze situations and problem solve independently.
    • Strong Organizational skills, and able to multi-task.
