We are seeking a dedicated Special Educator to join our New York City team. In this role as a Special Education teacher, you will have the opportunity to apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, ABA. Training provided! View these exciting jobs and come join our team!

Achieve Beyond was founded in 1995 and is continuously growing to meet the needs of developmentally disabled children through our ABA, speech, occupational, and physical therapy. We currently offer our Evaluation services in the entire metro New York area (including the five boroughs of NYC, Hudson Valley and Long Island) and Albany, New Jersey, Minnesota, Connecticut, California (greater Los Angeles area, San Diego, and Orange County), Delaware, and the Virginia/ Maryland/ DC area. We specialize in conducting initial evaluations and providing ongoing services in home, community and clinic settings. LOCATION: Evaluations will be conducted throughout Queens and the Bronx

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules, conducts and submits evaluation reports and documents on time including suggested revisions
  • Writes parent friendly and comprehensive evaluation reports and submits reports in a timely manner
  • Maintains good communication with department administrative staff regarding clinical questions, timelines, and overall updates and informs them when scheduling issues occur
  • Submits a weekly schedule to the Evaluations Manager and the Provider Relations Specialist (every Monday)
  • Attends and participates in IEP meetings, when needed

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a passion for working with children, families, and therapists!

  • NYS Certified Special Educator: Students with Disabilities (Birth-2) or Permanent Special Education certificate
  • Must be fluent in Spanish, both written and spoken; Bilingual extension in Spanish a must
  • Experience administering the DAYC-2 and HELP
  • Superior time management skills with ability to complete evaluations and written reports within very tight time frames
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds
  • Must be comfortable providing conducting evaluations in both home and community based settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
  • The ability to climb and descend staircases
  • The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly
  • The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/ or crawl for extended periods

Compensation depends on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
