CPSE Evaluations Coordinator

We are a mid-sized national Healthcare agency focused on serving children and families with special needs and developmental delays. We are currently seeking an Evaluations Coordinator to assist families in the CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) program. We are looking for a self-starter, motivated individual with the ability to multitask and the desire to learn and grow. This position requires analytically strength and ability to work as part of a team.


  1. Intake of CPSE referrals from the Nassau County School Districts
  2. Get authorization from SD to conduct Suppl. Evals
  3. Assure referrals have been received and scheduled
  4. Follow up on CPSE eval dates (after 2 days evals is assigned)
  5. Marketing to local referral sources such as pediatricians and daycares
  6. Troubleshooting during the eval process (Family contact information, reassign evaluators, observations, etc)
  7. Review Clinical information of reports and recommendations to compile CPSE summaries and child outcome summary
  8. Create and enter goals for School Districts
  9. Ensure Medicaid Compliance for all evaluations
  10. Assure that the Evaluation packets are received by the School District within the due date before the CPSE meeting
  11. Attend CPSE meetings in order to generate service referrals for the agency
  12. Determine needs of the department based on evaluators, areas, language, compliance of evaluators
  13. Coordinate and complete monthly projects: Missing authorizations, CPSE mtgs not held, Pending medicals, evals w/o submitted date.
  14. Outreach to referral sources to generate evaluation referrals.
  15. Coordinate Medicaid documentation projects for Nassau and Suffolk County when applicable
  16. Provide up to 5 hours of Direct Service based on evaluation caseload
  17. Confirm and Coordinate attendance of CPSE meetings


  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Spanish a plus
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS: Basic Computer skills.
  • REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CERTIFICATES: NYS Students with Disabilities B-2 or 1-6
  • EDUCATION: Bachelors or Master's degree in an educational related field.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two-three years of experience working in a related field preferred.
