STATUS: Hourly / Independent Contractor

REPORTS TO:
  Autism Program Director

SUMMARY/ JOB OBJECTIVE:


The Consultant will perform initial and ongoing evaluations and assessments, work with the child and family to develop strategies and goals for the child’s individualized home program. The Consultant will be responsible for training the instructors in the implementation of each individualized program, and educating family members regarding different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement in a community-oriented learning environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned

* Conduct thorough educational evaluations for children with autism.
* Design and implement individual learning and development plans.
* Administer assessments of baseline skills and create curriculum to promote educational development.
* Participate in collaborative Team Meetings  
* Monitor individual development for each child and recommend future treatment/education plans.
* Review the program book and update as needed.
* Offer suggestions of incorporating child’s goals and objectives into family’s daily routine.
* Coordinate with Program Director regarding program progress.
* Write up paperwork and performance evaluations during / after observations
* Recommend program updates, training, development, and outreach opportunities.
* Provide parents and teachers with resources.
* Attend workshops and conferences and share information with parents and teachers when applicable.
 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
*Provide Parent/Family Training as needed.
*Supervision of BCBA candidates.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint

REQUIREMENTS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology or Related Field required. BCBA required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three-five years of experience working with children ages 2-21 on the autism spectrum.
Supervisory experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Provide recommendations of teachers who need additional training
